Author Biography

Gaming to me is an artform that feels underappreciated by most people especially in the past when most games were great and challenging. Here in the present however, it feels to be over appreciated due to profitable grift reasons and dopamine dosages from winning without trying due to the rise of social media and DLC. This story highlights both the positives and negatives of gaming as a whole as it can benefit your decision-making and puzzle-solving skills while at the same time it can be an unhealthy addiction like a drug. I've written this short story while working graveyard shift at a retail story in 2022 (and still working there), and I will greatly appreciate if people pick this one up and give it a great read. You'd be glad you did.

It's a (Enter Difficulty Setting Here) Life by Anthony Moffett is a well-written book that enlightens readers on the importance of creating a balance in everything, even while indulging in hobbies and activities they are passionate about. Cody Redbond, a hardcore gamer, is beginning to become obsessed with his quest to unlock the highest achievement and become an Ace in the battle royal match of Fantasy Estate. However, Cody’s addiction makes him lose his job, social life, hygiene, and more. Soon after, Corey, Mavirna, and an attorney set out with a court order to evict Cody from the apartment. To get to Cody, they encounter various insects, pests, and fungi, such as cockroaches, termites, and others.

Every aspect of this book was unique, and I learned positive, life-changing lessons on self-responsibility and balance. I commend the author for using this book as a means to enlighten readers about the negative effects of gaming addiction, as it could lead to mental health issues and make them lose touch with reality and social connections. I loved how the characters were properly developed and given detailed descriptions, which made this story more appealing. Most sections of this book gave me a good laugh, particularly the description of the fungae cousins. The illustrations were lovely and made this book more engaging. The writing is concise, well-paced, organized, and easy to comprehend. It features themes on addiction, hygiene, mental health awareness, and more. I recommend It's a (Enter Difficulty Setting Here) Life by Anthony Moffett to all young adults, teens, and hardcore gamers.
