Jesus and Muhammad: Their Messages, Side-by-Side by Louis St Michael is a thorough and painstakingly researched compilation of the lives and statements, as proclaimed in the Christian Bible and the Islamic Q'uran, of two of the world's most historically compelling men: Jesus Christ and the Prophet Muhammad. Presented in a comprehensive, almost textbook format, St Michael gives - literally - a side by side comparison of where the recorded words of these men coincide and deviate from each other. This is done with a scholarly and impartial aspect, without context or opinion, through the use of graphs, charts, outlines, and with unembellished backstory.

Jesus and Muhammad: Their Messages, Side-by-Side by Louis St Michael is almost a marvel, and it's absolutely mind-boggling to imagine how St Michael was able to produce such a work in a clean and concise manner. It's been pigeonholed into the genre of religious and philosophical non-fiction, but truly, Jesus and Muhammad: Their Messages, Side-by-Side reads like an accessible piece of academia. The side-by-side format allows for instant comparison with little more than the flick of a page. I can see this book being very useful to anyone needing a quick, fact-based resource, as well as those with an interest in learning more about the two fastest growing, influential, and relevant religions of the world. That St Michael achieves this without the usual bias found in such works lends further credence to its usefulness in any conversation on the topic. Highly recommended and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to read it.

Jesus and Muhammad: Their Messages, Side-by-Side by Louis St Michael is a thought-provoking book that establishes a unique form of dialogue between the two spiritual teachers whose messages are at the core of the two most powerful religions on Earth — Jesus and Muhammad. The author allows the texts of Jesus and Mohammed to speak for themselves, enabling readers to rediscover what each of these two Masters has to say on a variety of topics — ranging from their reason for coming (vocation), true worship, elements of discord and peace, life, persecution, vengeance, and a lot more. The reader can quickly do a comparison between the two sets of scriptures and understand the common lessons shared by the two, and what makes their messages unique and different from each other.

There is no doubt that this is a well-researched book, and both Christian and Muslim scholars will discover in this work an honest quest for the truth about what divides our world. The book is an in-depth exploration of the core messages of the spiritual guides whose works have been at the heart of some of the greatest revolutions and civilizations the world has ever known. The author writes in a style that pays homage to the spiritual texts. It is surprising to notice that Jesus and Muhammad agree on a lot of things. For instance, they advise their followers to bear persecution with patience, trusting in the life that awaits them in God. As one reads Jesus and Muhammad: Their Messages, Side-by-Side by Louis St Michael, one suddenly understands that there shouldn’t even be war among religions, for even if there are slight differences in the message, at the heart of the doctrine is an unsullied concept of love.

Jesus and Muhammad: Their Messages, Side-by-Side by Louis St Michael is a non-fiction book and discourse on two of the major and most controversial religions of the world. Jesus and Muhammad is essentially a fact-based commentary on the similarities and differences between the two religions of Christianity and Islam. The book starts off with a brief foreword and introduction that presents the layout and structure of the book, and then dives into comparing these two religions literally side-by-side. All of the important topics are covered, and the book points out and summarizes the histories and prophets of the two religions along with the contents of the actual “holy books” themselves, such as concepts of heaven and hell, thoughts on women and marriage, children, homosexuality, prayer, rebirth, religious teachings, God and the Devil, etc. There is also a detailed list of references and key terms which are very useful.

Jesus and Muhammad: Their Messages, Side-by-Side is a very well-written and well-researched book. I appreciated the neutral point of view along with the exhaustive factual information presented from not only the Bible and the Koran, but also from historical sources. The writing is crisp and engaging, and there was plenty of information in this book that I wasn’t aware of, so that was interesting to learn. More than anything, we need a world where people are not bound by narrow, territorial ideas about who is right or what’s better. Instead we should adopt an attitude of “live and let live.” Hopefully, a book like this goes some way towards creating that neutral and accepting point of view, especially among followers of the only two religions of the world who believe in proselytizing. This is a book that I would recommend to anyone.

What do Jesus and Muhammad have in common? What makes them different? What is it their followers need to know about their core messages? In Jesus and Muhammad: Their Messages, Side-by-Side, Louis St Michael offers surprising answers to these questions and allows readers to get to the key messages of the two spiritual figures who have had great impact on human history and man’s relationship with God and with fellow man, helping readers make comparisons between the two. The messages are grouped into themes, and under each theme the author puts the thoughts of Jesus and Muhammad side by side, which makes it easy for readers to see the similarities and the differences in what they both taught. You’ll find out what both teachers taught their followers about love, God, spirituality, the afterlife, eschatology, homosexuality, and a lot more.

As I read through this book, I couldn’t help but reflect on why there are many religious conflicts in the world and why some people, in the name of God, take up arms against others and even resort to acts of terror. The image of the God of Jesus and Muhammad comes out clearly in these passages and it provokes serious reflection for readers who are engaged in honestly seeking answers to the religious divide that cripples contemporary society. Jesus and Muhammad: Their Messages, Side-by-Side is a gift that curious minds as well as those hungry for the truth should read. At times one would understand that at the heart of Christianity and Islam is a theology of love and peace. Louis St Michael has done an incredible job in putting this book together, a great gift for humanity.

A great book in the area of philosophy and spirituality, Jesus and Muhammad: Their Messages, Side-by-Side by Louis St Michael offers readers a unique opportunity to study two great spiritual leaders of history by looking at their core messages placed side by side. This is a comparative study that unveils the points of convergence and divergence in the doctrines of Jesus and Muhammad. In this book, readers will understand the key differences, the nuances, and the common teachings of these two spiritual leaders.

Although I found it hard understanding some of the messages of Muhammad— perhaps because of my Christian heritage — I could tell that Muhammad and Jesus agreed on many things, especially when it comes to the essence of spiritual life. I also noticed that the branding Islam has received most recently has left a very negative perception of the religion, one that is far from what its founder wanted it to be. In the heart of Islam, one finds a religion that seeks peace, not the violence and terror associated with some schools of thought.

Louis St Michael has done a great job in compiling these writings, and readers will also enjoy the relevant historical notes and references at the beginning of the book. Jesus and Muhammad: Their Messages, Side-by-Side offers readers a great resource to understand that dialogue between Islam and Christianity is possible, that people sometimes make war on what should be a reason to build peace and unity. This is a gift for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of the message of Jesus and Muhammad.
