Our childhood experiences have a significant impact on shaping our personalities as adults, which in turn dictate how we manage our professional careers and live our lives. Too often, self-help guidebooks tend to present the subject matter in a narrative interspersed with quips and quotes to keep things interesting. Charles D. McCarrick takes the opposite approach with Lessons My Brothers Taught Me, which is a string of anecdotes imbued with occasional bits of subject matter woven into a story. Charles tells his life story of how he went from being unemployed to playing an essential role in building a company not much more than an idea into an eight-figure high-tech enterprise. This story perfectly demonstrates the fact that success is built upon the foundation of basic principles and sustained by the character of individuals participating in a common goal.
Within each chapter of this story, you will find life lessons and morals learned from the personal anecdotes of Charles D. McCarrick's life. One of the most impressive and helpful aspects of Lessons My Brothers Taught Me is the personal story behind his success, as it makes the book relatable and all the more compelling to read. McCarrick's personable writing style and approach to the narrative make this the perfect guidebook for not just aspiring entrepreneurs or established managers but also people from a diverse array of careers who want to live fulfilling lives. I thoroughly enjoyed the humor-filled stories and learned some valuable lessons of my own. Highly recommended.
