More is a children's picture book written by Roberta C. Stone and illustrated by Alejandra Marchand. The story follows Henry, a young boy who loves everything and believes that having more—whether it's cakes, teddy bears, or video games—brings joy. However, his Grandpa has a different perspective. He points out that big parties with too many guests lead to more mess to clean up, too many cars cause traffic jams, and too many sweets, like candy and milkshakes, can result in tummy aches. Despite their differing viewpoints, both Henry and Grandpa agree that sometimes, more can be good. They create a list that includes friends, kindness, goodness, laughter, and, most importantly, love, reminding each other that more is not always bad.

More is a charming story that emphasizes the importance of valuing what truly matters in life. Through the dialogue between Henry and Grandpa, readers learn that while we may desire endless material possessions, these things are ultimately superficial and don't provide lasting joy or love. The story also beautifully illustrates the bond between family members from different generations, highlighting the passing down of wisdom and good values. Roberta C. Stone's writing is simple yet impactful, making the book relatable and easy for children to read and understand. The colorful illustrations complement the story well, effectively capturing the characters' emotions and distinct features. Henry is an adorable child with a bright smile, while Grandpa is a jolly, white-bearded man akin to Santa Claus. The clear text allows for easy reading without distractions from the illustrations, which is particularly beneficial for children who may struggle with reading. Overall, More is a thoughtful and engaging read for children, helping them grasp what truly matters in life.
