My Protest: Please Don't Erase My History! is a thought-provoking children's picture book by Linda Gaston-Bessellieu, Tawana Bessellieu, and Jaliyah Bessellieu-Webb. It follows the story of a first-grader, Jaliyah, the co-author's namesake, who is passionate about art and social studies. Jaliyah learns about important Black people during Black History Month and feels inspired to become important. However, Jaliyah learns that some people believe that knowing the truth about Black history can upset others, and information is being taken out of Black history books at her school.

My Protest: Please Don't Erase My History! by Linda Gaston-Bessellieu is a timely book highlighting the importance of knowing Black history. The story is beautifully illustrated and has a powerful message. It encourages children to learn about Black history and take action to preserve it. It includes coloring pages of influential personalities such as Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, Martin Luther King Jr., and Barack Obama, which adds to the learning experience. The story is well-written and easy to follow, making it suitable for children of young age. It is an excellent tool for parents and teachers who want to teach children about the struggles and accomplishments of Black people in America. The book's message is empowering, encouraging children to be proud of their heritage and fight for their beliefs. I highly recommend it to parents and teachers who want to highlight the importance of Black history.

In My Protest: Please Don't Erase Our History! by Linda Gaston-Bessellieu, Tawana Bessellieu, and Jaliyah Bessellieu-Webb, we meet a first-grade student named Jaliyah. Through social studies, Jaliyah has made some exciting discoveries, like how Black people have invented many new things and how they have courageously strived to make the world a better place for everyone. Jaliyah's school library has many history books about all kinds of people. But some people don't want others to know about Black history. So they plan to take some information from the Black history books. What can be done to save the truth?

Black history is under fire and even facing censorship in some states. There is no better way to educate kids about the resistance it meets than through a sweet and meaningful book like Linda Gaston-Bessellieu's My Protest: Please Don't Erase Our History! It's a nonfiction work dedicated to all children. Their attention is sure to be piqued by the illustrations due to their vividness. In addition to the vibrant pictures for young readers, there are exciting activities for them to complete, like coloring images of some of the most inspiring figures in Black history.

Jaliyah would also like to be an important person and maybe one day join the list of great Black people who have accomplished exciting things. Undoubtedly, she will be a great role model for many kids who read this book. She is also bold and ensures the reader feels involved in the narrative by asking questions about some of the most exciting facts in the book and providing the answers. The amount of text in the book was kept to a minimum, with only a few words on every page, and the language was simple to read and understand. I believe this is a must-have for people with children, regardless of ethnicity or race.

My Protest: Please Don't Erase Our History! by Linda Gaston-Bessellieu, Tawana Bessellieu, and Jaliyah Bessellieu-Webb follows a young African American girl as she discovers what Black History Month is. Considering everything they learn at school daily, she was excited to learn about the heritage of her people. Learning about the amazing things Black people have done and accomplished makes her proud and inspires Jaliyah to do something great someday.

My Protest by Linda Gaston-Bessellieu, Tawana Bessellieu, and Jaliyah Bessellieu-Webb is a well-written book about a girl learning about Black History Month. She learns about all the inventions and creations made by Black people and some important figures in history who stood up against inequality and fought for equal rights among all people. The writing style keeps it simple and straightforward, which I think is very good considering the topic. I think it will do well as children won’t be confused by overly complicated words and instead can focus on the information given. You can tell this book was well thought out and planned for before the writing, and the colorful illustrations help bring it all to life. My Protest also touches on the important fact that many history books are sometimes altered, removing or changing real events of the past. It ends off by stressing the importance of keeping Black history intact and how people can do this. I thought this book was brilliant, and I hope many children learn the importance of their heritage.

My Protest: Please Don't Erase Our History! by Linda Gaston-Bessellieu, Tawana Bessellieu, and Jaliyah Bessellieu-Webb is an educational picture book for children. A young girl named Jaliyah tells us all about the things she learns at school. She studies mathematics, science, music, and other exciting subjects. But Jaliyah's favorite topic is black history. Jaliyah's teacher educates her and the other schoolchildren about famous black people who have broken through boundaries to become equal. Jaliyah finds this information highly important and is sad when she learns that a lot of detail has been removed from books as this may be too upsetting for people to read. Will you help Jaliyah spread the word about how important black history is? Start by picking up a copy of this wonderful book.

My Protest is a book children need to read as it includes so much important and useful information that children should learn. I was lucky enough to be taught about black history in school, and it saddens me to hear that this may no longer be the case in some areas. It should be taught because how else are children going to understand and appreciate how much black people endured to get to where they are today? The wording is simple to allow Linda Gaston-Bessellieu, Tawana Bessellieu, and Jaliyah Bessellieu-Webb’s beautiful message to be easily absorbed. I loved the illustrations as they are bright and colorful and will surely capture the attention of any young reader. Please continue to educate children on these important topics. Children are going to love your book. Keep up the great work, and I hope to read more from you soon.
