Organizational Development Essentials You Always Wanted to Know by Ankur Mithal combines knowledge and experience in an excellent overview of Organizational Development (OD). For those who are interested in utilizing Organizational Development in their professional work, studying the subject, or interested in how to bring change into an organization, this is an excellent overview and introduction to the subject. The author’s experience in building multicultural teams and working as an international consultant definitely shows in the explanation of the subject matter. He introduces important techniques such as Fishbone Analysis, Content Analysis, and Force Field Analysis along with a variety of perspectives in developing the action plan. He also introduces basic statistics and uses to help diagnose the problem using an OD approach. The book concludes with an invitation to those interested in becoming an OD professional with an excellent overview of the skills, knowledge, and abilities for success as a consultant or part of an organization.
Ankur Mithal introduces the world of OD in Organizational Development Essentials You Always Wanted to Know in a very effective and interesting manner. The book is practical and well-organized in its approach, explaining the basics of Organizational Development and change management in a very interesting manner. The challenges of institutionalizing change management are important and well explained, urging the reader to learn more about this subject. There are quizzes at the end of each chapter that review the basic concepts along with a chapter summary. For those interested in pursuing a career in Organizational Development, Mr. Mithal provides an excellent explanation of OD’s importance in bringing about change and the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful. A very useful book and highly recommended to those interested in learning more about bringing about change in their organizations.
