Contemplating nature awakens our creativity and helps us develop ideas applicable to our daily lives. That is why, in Poignant Landscapes, Van Thi Diep shares a personal collection of essays, poems, and photographs focused on finding inner peace. She reflects on how landscapes and our perception of them evolve through time. The author also addresses issues related to the search for belonging, overcoming insecurity, and the sense of unity in our surroundings. Her analysis takes a philosophical, academic, and artistic approach. In her writings, she examines how we interpret essential concepts related to nature, culture, place, and time. Van Thi Diep combines these ideas with landscapes to evoke emotions such as sadness, nostalgia, and joy. Poignant Landscapes allows us to reflect on our own beliefs on a wide variety of topics.

I loved Van Thi Diep's writing style. She combines intellectual and emotional ideas using clear and accessible language. Some of her writing dates back to her teenage years, showing a constant interest in sharing emotions. In addition, the narrative is honest and non-judgmental, highlighting the importance of maintaining ideals such as hope and love. Each topic is explained interestingly, but I found her thoughts on the soul fascinating. The content is visually impressive. The photographs are beautiful. They all evoke a sense of peace and harmony, showing distant places such as the sea, mountains, and picturesque landscapes. Van Thi Diep invites us to contemplate the world's beauty and reflect on our own lives, enriching our perspective. Poignant Landscapes allows us to express ourselves freely and find inspiration in the peace of the landscapes it presents.
