In Silver by Daniel Logue and Stephen Logue, danger arrives in Oak Bluff in the form of a mysterious stranger. Lucas, the sheriff of Oak Bluff, notices the stranger walking into the saloon. Jake, still carrying the trauma of a few years back, is drawn to the stranger, who introduces himself as Lycaon. He arrives not long after a series of brutal killings. Lycaon is arrested for killing a man who beat him during a card game, and it seems justice may have been served. Lycaon’s escape from the cells confirms Lucas’s suspicions that Lycaon is tied to the brutal killings. Lucas turns to Jake for help as he realizes there is something strange about Lycaon. Jake joins a group of townsfolk determined to hunt Lycaon down. They have no idea of the horrors that await them. Jake is unaware of the dark connection he shares with Lycaon.

Silver by Daniel Logue and Stephen Logue had me hooked from the first page to the end. It was filled with Western grit and supernatural horror. I had a hard time putting the book down, and could not turn the pages fast enough. The plot is fast-paced but allows readers enough time to process everything before the next event. The characters were well-developed and authentic. Jake was still carrying the guilt of what had happened in the past and was forced into violence again. The events were descriptive and left nothing to the imagination. At times, it was brutal and gruesome. The book was brilliantly written and had my attention throughout. After everything that happened and all the horrors, the ending was perfect.
