Slaving Over Christmas by Allyson R. Abbott is a sweet and seductive tale of a couple experiencing a man’s natural diminishing arousal after years of work and marriage and the natural rise in a woman’s libido as she enters her thirties. Jill and Tom secretly have love and desire for one another but are both concerned over insulting or hurting the other, which drives Tom to go to the gym more often for escape and Jill to find other means of release in private. Their family decides not to join them for Christmas and they both agree to spend only five dollars on each other’s Christmas present. Both of them apparently had the same thought: Jill bought him a very interesting and sensual garment in hopes of sparking a fun, loving memory and Tom got her an apron with an interesting IOU in the pocket, promising to be her slave for twenty-four hours. Will these gifts provide a new spark?
Allyson R. Abbott tackles a very bold subject in the issues that a man and a woman face as they age, as well as how hard it can be to find the courage to address the most intimate details of shortcomings that we all face, even to the one person we choose to love for the rest of our lives. Slaving Over Christmas is a well thought out, sensual tale with very identifiable characters. Abbott allows her creativity to shine brightly in this short story. The plot and story line are easy to get lost in, wondering what will happen next. Slaving Over Christmas is an entirely entertaining story of sexuality that borders on the brink of erotica. Allyson R. Abbott presents an edgy idea with some enticing lovers' games along with some sexy humor. Abbott will undoubtedly draw plenty of fans (18+), and I will be in that crowd.
