The Chiral Protocol is a Military Science Fiction Thriller and the second book in the Biogenesis War series by L.L. Richman. After reading the first book in the series, I knew I couldn’t pass this one up. I had developed a love for Micah Case, a well-developed protagonist who made the story an addictive one. In this second installment, Shadow Recon pilot Micah Case is out to stop the world from being destroyed by a powerful weapon. He is the only one who is immune to the viral weapon developed by the Akkadians with stolen samples. His mission: locate and destroy the Akkadian laboratory before the countdown is over.

This is a top-tier thriller with a monumental conflict and sophisticated characters. The elements of good science fiction and an electrifying military thriller are melded in this one, and while it is the second book in the series, it reads well as a standalone novel. L.L. Richman’s plot is tight and clever; the protagonist is a character that readers will adore. This series evokes the sensation I had reading Lee Child’s novels. The author brings to life a world that brims with conflict, a protagonist racing against time to stop the annihilation of the world, with obstacles thrown in his way through every chapter. Again, the writing is superb. It is a veritable tour de force that is cleverly plotted, flawlessly executed, and utterly original. The Chiral Protocol has all the elements to keep any reader reading through the night.

The Chiral Protocol – A Military Science Fiction Thriller is the second book in the Biogenesis War by L.L. Richman. It is a propulsive novel that is fast-paced and features Micah Case, an exceptional protagonist on whose shoulders lies the ultimate fate of humanity. The setting is interplanetary and at a time when humans have reached the stars. An alliance has been established with a robust and vigorous trade developed between the settled worlds, ushering in a prosperous new era for every star nation involved—with one exception: Akkadia. An asset of the alliance is found murdered and chiral material stolen. Shadow Recon pilot Micah Case is the only person who is immune to the viral weapon developed by the Akkadians with stolen samples. Micah has the perilous task of finding his teammate, tracking down the samples, and destroying the enemy’s laboratory before they annihilate the world. And time is not on his side.

This is an action-packed techno-thriller with impeccable world-building. Set in the future, L.L. Richman invents a world dominated by science, but one that is still fragile and exposed to a deadly enemy. The concept of colonies forming an alliance in space is ingeniously written. This is one of the most engaging technothrillers I have read since 2020. The writing is impeccably good and the author’s way with words allows for strong imagery. This is a writer who knows how to play with the reader’s expectations, keeping the tale as suspenseful and as twisty as can be. It is packed with action and features characters that are monumental and sophisticated. The Chiral Protocol will keep you turning the pages if you are fond of strong writing and action-packed stories.

The Chiral Protocol: A Military Science Fiction Thriller is the second book in the Biogenesis War series by L.L. Richman. One of Micah's team members has disappeared, and so has some vital, classified information. The Akkadians have some plans that could prove to be far more dangerous than anything else. They have prepared a viral weapon that can destroy humanity, and it seems like Micah is the only one who can save everyone from this terrible fate. However, he will have to find his team member, locate the samples of this virus and destroy them before they are unleashed on the world. No one can survive this except for Micah. Can he do it? Or will this be the end of the battle for him?

Author L.L. Richman has magic in this science fiction and military fiction mix. He has a way with words that made the story so interesting to me. The narrative is powerful, it is compelling, and it drew me in. The flow of the narrative makes the story so easy to read. Of course, Micah and his competence have a lot to do with my interest. He is resilient, very intelligent, and determined to a fault. The mystery behind the virus, the Akkadians' nefarious plans, and the whole suspense behind Micah's special status were very well-managed. The imagery is flawless in this novel. You can feel emotions and the desperation Micah experiences at times. He is helpless at times, but he never lets his courage falter. The sequel exceeded my expectations!
