Bronson Trellisane was once a Mob hit man but was duped into participating in one of the most famous assassinations of all time. Now, all he wants to do is stay retired and run his barber shop. Unfortunately that is not to be. A government agent from his past returns with a deal, kidnap and deliver a government witness to his old mob buddy, Sonny Boy Bonasera or be exposed for his part in that particular kill. He agrees but has plans of his own. You see, he has a score to settle with Sonny Boy and this is the opportunity he’s been waiting for to get it done. What comes next is double-cross after double-cross from California to Chicago leaving a trail of death along the way to a final showdown where only one can survive.

The Killing Game is a good story. The book is rather short, but is 140 pages of non-stop action. The author has created some interesting characters and a good plot by adding reference to some major events in American history. The only drawback to the story was the limited suspense and drama, especially in many of what should have been heavy action sequences. The author could have added more descriptive detail, particularly to some of the action scenes without going into too much gory detail easily adding additional fifty to one-hundred pages to the book. By adding some suspense and detailing some of the violence, this story would go from being good, to being very good.
