In The Likeness of Sinful Flesh by William Isley, Hope Webster leads a promiscuous life before the fateful night she is saved. Hope had seven children by different men. On the night she was saved, she was going out when she met Pastor Jones preaching. From that day on, she belonged to the Lord. Miriam was the oldest of her siblings, and, because of her mother's former character, she had to take on responsibility at a very young age. She despises her mother for this and cannot stand listening to her. At seventeen, Miriam becomes involved with a man called Silas who is a womanizer. After finding out Miriam is pregnant, he beats her up badly. Dr. Bright is a friend of Pastor Jones, but they don't share the same views about religion or the value of human life.

The Likeness of Sinful Flesh by William Isley will make you ponder the value of human life and other issues that are prevalent in the world today. For instance, Dr. Bright's views on abortion and euthanasia got me thinking about medical ethics, the extent to which medics should go, and the regulations that should be in place to protect people. I loved how the plot flows seamlessly, leaving no room for confusion for the reader. The descriptions ensured that all the events and places were captured vividly, making it entertaining. The book is also very effective in passing on the intended message. The characters were well-developed, and the narration was excellent, which added to the overall beauty of the book.
