The Little Monster by Sheri Fink is an adorable children's story about a monster who is scared of the dark. Approaching the age of 600, the monster is given his own room, which makes him have mixed emotions; he's never slept alone before. The monster soon realizes that he is unable to sleep due to being afraid of the dark, something that is unheard of amongst his kind. He tries and tries to overcome his fear but nothing works until eventually he ends up confessing his fear to his parents, who then comfort him and give him a nightlight. The monster learns that the dark can be fun and not scary!
The moral of the story is that you should be honest about your feelings because it can make things a lot better, no matter how scared you are to do so. The Little Monster will also help children with feeling more confident about sleeping at night, and knowing that nothing bad will happen, allowing them to transition into the next stage of their childhood. If your child is like the monster in the story, then pick up a copy of The little Monster, and begin to read it to them, as I'm sure it will ease their worries.
Sheri Fink has done a great job at creating a fun and uplifting book for young children. I adored the storyline and the illustrations of the characters are cute; children will love them! The Little Monster will be useful when it comes to helping your child sleep at night. By telling them the monster's story, your child will be able to relate to him and overcome their fears of sleeping alone at night, just as he did. I can't recommend this book enough. I enjoyed every page and will be reading it again in the future. Keep up the good work, Sheri Fink!
