Lindsay Richardson and her sister Meg have lost their father and are now full-time caregivers for their mother who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Lindsay is starting a new job at Copley Industries, and after meeting her boss, Dean Copley, she is more nervous than ever. With all the challenges of a new job and the responsibilities of her declining mother, Lindsay finds that she may be falling in love with Dean. Other members of the Copley family and an angry ex, Gwennyth, are determined to sabotage any chance of a relationship between these two. Dean, who lives with the guilt of his brother's death, is finding his way out of the guilt, thanks to his new hire, Lindsay. As this socially unequal pair becomes closer, a renewed faith and ability to trust are reborn. Can two people who have each suffered loss and heartache and who come from such contrasting backgrounds ever end up together?

The Perfect Proposal by Regina Andrews is a multi-dimensional love story. Regina Andrews presents an interesting contemporary romance and looks at the different facets of love. The tender love between two daughters and a mother whose mind and memories are slipping away and the unlikely pairing of the common working girl and her high society boss. Each scenario is filled with its own unique challenges. Allowing past wounds to heal and finding a way to move forward are key points that Regina Andrews has included in this story. I enjoyed this book.
