Time Lies Fate & Family: The Storm Madison Story Book 1 by Kazzie Kennedy takes you first to Brighton, Australia, to meet respected defense attorney Storm Madison who is taking control of the courtrooms right up to the Supreme Court. There is one thing above all that Storm dislikes and that is injustice. While life has her busy fighting for justice, her popularity and skill land her in a magazine article which she sees as a personal intrusion into her life; this intrusion leads to chaos. The ride is a wild one and Storm will have to ride out the hurricane and learn many lessons along the way, plus she will have to learn to trust someone aside from herself.

This book brought out a lot of conflicting emotions for me. I have to say there were times that I loved Storm Madison and there were times I hated her. It is due to this ability to have me going back and forth on how I felt about the character that made me love the book; it makes everything more real and gritty. I was able to dive into this story and really make myself a part of the events and, because of some of the very human moments, I liked Storm and sometimes I didn't. I could see this all playing out in real life. There is little more that pleases me than a great work of fiction that feels like it could be a true story. Kazzie Kennedy has written a very nice bit of work here and I look forward to seeing what she has in store for us next. I would recommend this read to anyone who is interested in the genre.
