Living with the daily reminder that his grandparents sacrificed precious years of their lives for his survival, James Falco takes it upon himself to make a difference in society. When he stumbles upon evidence implicating MiraiCorp, a powerful player in the global markets, in a damaging scandal involving newborn babies, James recognizes an opportunity to make an impact. He reaches out to Murphy Smith, an investigative journalist seeking a scoop. Unbeknownst to them, their actions will set off a catastrophic chain of events, attracting the interest of a mysterious group led by an eccentric family in Time by Lia Ramsay.

In Time, Lia Ramsay employs an intriguing narrative style wherein the principal focus gradually shifts from one character to another, encompassing various subplots. The dialogue is direct and relatively easy to follow, despite the sometimes chaotic impression created by the global-scale battles. Ramsay takes special care to highlight the unusual family dynamics among the principal characters and their relatives in the character development, notably Murphy’s method of ingratiating himself with the members of the Aziz family. The rapid pace complements the detailed fight sequences, creating an immersive atmosphere that will appeal to fans of the action genre. A standout aspect is the use of seemingly inconsequential objects to move between subplots, creating a hybrid narrative that resembles a collection of short stories united by a powerful theme on the necessity of sacrifice in the battle for survival. Ramsay combines these elements to create a unique adventure that will captivate readers seeking a top-class science fiction story.
