Tips, Tricks and Hacks for the Mom, Student, Working Professional, Athlete and Social Activist: How to Keep it Simple and Convenient by Durga Jenkins is more than just a short book with a really long title. Jenkins packs the book with a plethora of life hacks – related to cleaning, organizing, meal planning and overall household management to just name a few. Readers may have heard of a few of these life hacks already (such as paying bills online to save time) and some are common sense (like using checklists to stay organized). However, Jenkins takes the subject matter further than that, going almost room-by-room in the home, stating how things can be run faster and more efficiently. The book even goes into organizational, financial and time management apps designed to save time and sanity in today’s busy world.
I found the book written in a friendly and helpful voice that would appeal to most readers. While I would have liked to see a table of contents in the book, Jenkins does organize the sections in groups – such as household hacks, cleaning hacks, work hacks, financial hacks, etc. – so readers can scroll through to quickly find the section they are looking for. I would recommend this book to busy women (and men) looking to organize household matters more efficiently and also save time on day-to-day responsibilities.
