In Together Again by Paula Barnestead, Kelly Danvers and Sean Taylor met while working in Geneva. The two fell madly in love and everyone expected a wedding soon. However, Sean's fellowship came to an end and he was to return to Seattle, leaving Kelly behind. The circumstances prior to Sean's departure were not at all pleasant, leading the two to separate on bitter terms. But now their former boss and dearest friend Katherine Burrows needed help, even although she had not asked for it. Katherine was also now residing in Seattle, but Kelly did not think twice about dropping everything to be by her side. However, this move meant that Kelly and Sean could not avoid each other anymore. What could this mean for the two who had almost walked down the aisle had it not been for Sean's so poorly delivered good intentions.
Together Again by Paula Barnestead is a beautiful and complex contemporary love story about fate and overcoming barriers. There is nothing like a misunderstood gesture to mess up a good thing. This is very clearly portrayed in Together Again when ghosts from Kelly's past lead her to misread Sean's good intentions, putting a very big dent in their journey. The story very clearly emphasizes the importance of communication in a relationship - it is not about the message being delivered, but about how it is perceived by the recipient. The story also vividly brought out the beautiful virtues of true friendship, love, loyalty, and giving hearts. I fell deeply for Kelly's character and the other major characters, each of which had a unique side to them, as I followed their beautiful and touching stories.
