The Bible has been interpreted in myriad ways ever since its writing. According to author Jerry Mitchell, this is a problem as the truth always gets lost when people put their own spin on it. In Tradition to Truth, Mitchell seeks to find the answers to some of life's fundamental questions in the Bible. Raised as an East Coast farm boy in a traditional Methodist family, Mitchell grew up being disillusioned by the sermons in the churches and almost lost faith in organized religion. After delving into Hebrew history, Mitchell discovered facets of the Bible that changed his entire outlook. In this book, the author explores the tradition of the Sabbath, condemns adding to the word of God, negates pagan holidays, encourages a healthy diet and exercise, and much more.
Tradition To Truth draws from Bible verses as they were meant to be and offers readers a few valuable lessons on life, faith, and God that will pique the interest of any biblical scholar or theologist in general. Jerry Mitchell strongly believes in obeying the Sabbath and discourages the practice of worshipping God in the pagan way. The author insists there is much to learn from the book of Exodus as the path to Heaven and the Holy Spirit is laid out in the Bible. Even if you're not too familiar with the Bible, Michell presents the content in a manner that is accessible and easy to understand. It is a book that readers of all kinds will find rewarding, regardless of age, gender, or background. Personally, I found it very informative, spiritually enlightening, and inspirational. Highly recommended!
