Tree Pose by Susan Rogers and John Roosen is the third installment in the Yoga Mat Mysteries series and offers a wonderful blend of crime, thriller, and romance. Ric Peters and Elaina Williams are off to Tasmania for a holiday. Both feel torn by worries, doubts, and concerns about the direction their relationship is—or is not—going. And both look forward to a relaxing time. But unexpected perilous surprises get in the way of their plans. Life-threatening warnings start coming Ric’s way, demanding that Ric leave Tasmania instantly after a hit-and-run murder of a hotel clerk before their eyes. But who wants Ric to leave Tasmania and why? Will Ric and Elaina succumb to these demands? How will these perils affect their relationship?

What a delightful mystery thriller! I loved my reunion with Ric and Elaina, and their perilous adventures were breathtaking. I liked the never-ending, memorable highlights as Ric and Elaina traversed Tasmania. The traditional Indian wedding was picturesque and atmospheric. The Ghost Tour at Port Arthur felt both scary and comical. On a deeper level, I appreciated how Susan Rogers and John Roosen exposed the evil perils of human trafficking, deception, and corruption in higher circles. The romantic thread was a welcome distraction from the perils of Tasmania, and the revelations and decisions Ric and Elaina made portrayed them in a new light. But most of all, I liked the climax—it was one of the most suspenseful I've read recently!

The audiobook narration by talented Rupert Degas was perfect. I could not think of a better voice actor to steer me through the perils faced by Ric and Elaina. Every character had a distinct voice and accent, and I could glean from Rupert’s tone if the character was good or evil! The sound recording was flawless, and every scene had the right tone and pace. I particularly enjoyed how Rupert narrated the Ghost Tour at Port Arthur—I could visualize Harry Potter’s Professor Snape! If you enjoy entertaining, educational, and thought-provoking mysteries, you will love this riveting story. I also highly recommend Tree Pose to teenagers, young adults, parents, and educators because it offers vivid cues of pretenses used by human traffickers to deceive their victims.
