Dancing With Tex: The Remarkable Friendship To Save The Whooping Cranes by Lynn Sanders is an uplifting story about saving the Whooping Cranes from extinction. It also speaks about the power of friendship. Tex was born in San Antonio Zoo and Fred, the zoo keeper, realized she was a special bird, a Whooping Crane. Tex, the Whooping Crane, loved people and George, a young man from Canada, loved Whooping Cranes. They become dance partners and they never thought their dancing would save the Whooping Cranes from extinction. It is a story of support, love, and friendship and how they never gave up on each other.

The story highlights the importance of passion, determination, perseverance, and persistence, and it shows George's determination to not give up despite facing setbacks many times. The illustrations are bright and colorful and they breathe life into the characters and the story. Young readers are educated about Whooping Cranes and the importance of preserving an endangered species. It's an excellent story for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. The questions and answers at the end, the discussion guide, and the 'get inspired' session are all useful for readers to ponder over, and inspires kids to create a better world for everyone to live in.
