Elisabeth's Miracle by Vanessa Siso is a Christian children's book that combines faith with fun. Elizabeth loves her sock puppets, and each one has its own name and personality. She and Samuel often spend hours having wild adventures with their puppets, but one day at school changed all that when her schoolmates made fun of her for playing with them. Determined to never look at another sock again, Elizabeth changes her mind after a long talk with her dad, but what happens when she returns to school with her sock puppets?

Elizabeth’s Miracle by Vanessa Siso is a wonderfully illustrated storybook about having faith in God’s plan for us all. It teaches children that everything they are and do is a gift from God and that they should embrace their “weirdness” with all their hearts. No two people are the same, but children can be cruel. This book helps them see that just because they are different in some way, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. It also teaches the real value of friendship, of how to deal with losing a friend because they perceive you as different from everyone else, and it also shows kids how to learn through play, inclusion, and kindness. At the end of the book is a fun activity for kids once they have read the book, a bit of sock puppet role-play, and some helpful hints for the adults in charge to ensure everything goes smoothly. Lastly, the role-playing activity ends with some useful questions, all designed to get kids thinking and understanding the story and its lessons. A great book that should be in school reading time everywhere.
