In God Is Not an Information Desk, T.G. Owens drives multiple passengers in London and discusses life, faith, and personal awareness with each of them. Among them is Virginia, an American woman with whom Owens chats about loneliness and obstacles while explaining limiting beliefs and the presence of God during hardship. He discusses failed relationships and personal reflection with a young man traveling to Wembley Stadium, and talks to a sex worker named Anthea about money, family obligations, and purpose. Owens prays with Angie and offers guidance about faith and surrender, and converses with a man from Manchester on distrust of religion, where Owens differentiates faith from organized religion. Two elderly men share humor during a Christmas ride, whereas a young Romanian woman describes past trauma, with Owens sharing coping strategies.

God Is Not an Information Desk: Rides That Lead to the Heart by T.G. Owens is an extraordinary look at the subtle ways life can shift in ordinary moments. Owens’ storytelling does an excellent job of taking us along for each ride, not by cataloguing events, but by showing the humanity in his passengers and the insight that emerges from attentive conversation. Music, humor, and personal observations embed themselves naturally into his experiences, creating an atmosphere where readers feel present in each encounter. Owens has a rare talent for turning simple exchanges into lessons about trust, connection, and the choices we make daily. I loved the story of a man buying flowers to attempt a reconciliation with his girlfriend, whereas Owens advises focusing on listening, understanding, and friendship. The book leaves a lasting impression because it makes the reader notice what is often overlooked, inspiring openness and curiosity about the people and moments we might otherwise pass by. Very highly recommended.
