Donna learned about true and lasting love from a man called Ross and she tragically lost him soon after. Now she spends her days keeping her accounting business afloat and avoiding dates with men her friends think are “just perfect” for her. Fast forward to the present day and Kristen, Ross’ daughter, is about to get married. Unfortunately, the business she inherited from her father has some suspicious payments made from her fiancé Matt’s company and she enlists Donna to help her figure it out. Last Flight from Flagstaff finds Donna on a plane just days before the wedding to help out Ross’ daughter in any way she can. Beth Carpenter sets up the story nicely, providing all of the important information the reader needs to know without making it sound like a book report. When Donna arrives in Flagstaff for a seemingly cloak and dagger mission, things get stranger and stranger.

When Donna meets Blake, the elusive uncle and partner of Matt, she is instantly attracted to him. His possible role in the missing money, though, has Donna acting cautiously. But the attraction is too strong and Donna believes she’s due for a bit of happiness and love after her disastrous marriage. Last Flight from Flagstaff is a creative blend of romance and mystery. Between the lively and man-eating mother of the groom to the monstrous wedding planner, Beth Carpenter fills this story with unique characters, just like your own friends and family. There was no high drama in this story, just a sweet tale of an accountant ready to experience the love a special man taught her about.
