Ms. Alberta, a feral cat, goes from hunting for food to sitting by a bowl in a barn and waiting for her human friend to fill it with food. Though she loves the safety of the barn, she wishes to follow Mama, her human friend, to the house with the big red door. Unfortunately, a small dog with a terrifying bark stands in her way, making her too frightened to spend more time with her beloved human friend. Will Ms. Alberta finally summon the courage to make a new friend and live in a human house? Diana Tuorto's Ms. Alberta: Feline Barn Manager is an adorable tale about a shy cat and her journey to becoming a house cat. The picture book is illustrated by Ava Bucci with lovely black-and-white pictures that depict the events in the story.
I held my breath as I read the cat's struggle to join her human friend in the house and the barking dog that stood in her way.
