This is the story of Odie the stray kitten. Odie is an orange and white boy cat now, but this is what happened to Odie on a cold winter night when he was a kitten. Odie lost his mom and family in the woods. He meowed for them, but he couldn’t find them. Odie was so scared he just started walking in the cold snow. When he came upon a small barn with two horses in it, Odie snuck in and found a nice pile of hay, lay down and went to sleep. When he woke up, his family still wasn’t there, but in came a little girl with a cat walking beside her. On my! What will happen to Odie now that he had been found in someone else’s barn?
I love this very cute and sweet story of Odie the stray kitten. While reading this story, I could just imagine all of the stray kittens out there and wondered if they were cold and scared. This is definitely a book that all children will love, because I don’t know of any child who doesn’t love a sweet and adorable little kitten just like Odie. Author Kristen Mott has crafted a clever story to help children when they are lonely. Just as Odie found a friend to love him, kids can always find friends to be with and love them when they feel lonely. And I love the adorable illustrations; the book cover is beautiful and oh so very sweet with a sad little kitten all alone. I can tell you that author Kristen Mott and illustrator Lowell Hilderbrandt have created a really adorable children's book with an awesome and valuable lesson to teach children everywhere about being lonely. I highly recommend Odie the Stray Kitten for all kids, wherever they may be.
