In Kurt D. Springs' Promise of Mercy, Colonel Liam O’Connor and his family are thrust into a race for survival. Kergan, the antagonist, attempts to lead a rebellion against the Galactic Alliance. He succeeds in awakening three Founders from their cryonic stasis. Upon realizing their descendants have wandered from their intended purposes, the Founders seek to destroy the existing civilizations and substitute them with their initial prototypes. The Founders aim their attention at the priestesses and the Finnian because these groups pose a threat to their plans. Amid the disarray, Liam goes missing, and his wife, the High Priestess Celinia, is taken hostage. His triplet daughters, son, and friends must combine their skills to save their world. Can they stop Kergan and his rebellious forces before it is too late?

Promise of Mercy has jaw-dropping action, suspense, adventure, and character development. The story draws you into a complex but well-designed world. The concepts I loved the most are—Celinia's dreamscape abilities, the intricate technology/weaponry used by the characters, and the captivating action sequences that push the story forward. The interaction among the O’Connor family members is an exquisite bonus. Their family dynamics add hue and authenticity to the storyline. The world-building is on an impressive level of its own. Kurt D. Springs does an incredible job of describing each scene in great detail. I admire how the theme of showing mercy is creatively woven into the story. If you enjoy watching movies like Star Wars, Black Widow, and Guardians of the Galaxy, you will enjoy reading this novel. Overall, Promise of Mercy is a must-read for fans of sci-fi books. Have fun!
