The Bellhop Only Stalks Once is a work of fiction in the thriller and suspense sub-genres, and was penned by author Cat Hickey. Written for adult audiences due to scenes of moderate violence, some moderate sex scenes and a few references to drug usage, this intriguing and fast-paced thriller novel starts off in an idyllic paradise where it seems nothing could ever go wrong. Chloe arrives at the Club Pacifica with high hopes for fun and frolic, but an overly flirty bellhop begins to follow her in a less than flattering fashion. But it’s only when the bellhop vanishes entirely that the plot really thickens, forcing Chloe to face a variety of secrets that she never wanted to uncover.

Author Cat Hickey has crafted a totally engrossing work of mystery and suspense which unfolds with surprise after surprise. Thriller fans are sure to find lots of edge-of-seat moments in the sharp grammar and clever story structure, which manages to give plenty of hints and clues without giving the main game away until the right moment. I felt that the atmospheric language really added to the different scenes around the resort area, shifting beautiful vistas into dark, shadowy, and dangerous locations. Chloe makes for a fresh-faced protagonist caught in the middle of things, and I enjoyed how she developed and grew as a character whilst the novel was in progress. Overall, I would definitely recommend The Bellhop Only Stalks Once for all readers seeking a deeply involved mystery with plenty of gasps and guessing.
