The High by Albert Depas is a unique and colorful treasure. In this work, which features professional photographs and poems that capture fleeting moments, Depas explains the history of the 1.5-mile elevated linear park in New York City and highlights the beauty it offers. It was once an abandoned elevated railway track, becoming a neglected part of history that could have easily been overlooked. The pressing question at the time was, "What should we do with this historical eyesore?" After much heated discussion, the decision was made to transform it into a park. As a result, this old railway line became a peaceful haven where people and nature could escape the chaos below.

New York City is renowned for its numerous beautiful and fascinating features that symbolize the country's strength and foundation. Albert Depas provides us with a glimpse of a hidden gem within this vast city. He skillfully gives voice to the images through his poetry, capturing both the peace and serenity of the park, as well as the enjoyment of those who discover this oasis amid the fast-paced urban environment. In addition to beauty and tranquility, Depas prompts us to appreciate the simple things that most people overlook. He observes people taking selfies in the rain and children building snowmen. What I love most about this book is the renewed hope it inspires: something once discarded and neglected now brings joy. The High is certainly an artistic exploration of everyday experiences on The High Line in New York City.
