The Restless Wrangler is the fifth book in the Colter Sons series by Karen Baney. This emotional story takes readers on a moving journey about facing one's past head-on and learning to believe in hope for a brighter future. Preston Colter, the youngest son in the family, is the prodigal child of the Colter clan and sees himself as a misfit. Hetty Clark is a spunky rancher who loves a challenge. Their story plays out on a ranch in the late 1800s and is an entertaining and insightful read. Facing struggles relevant during their time as well as today, these characters have their work cut out for them. Can the pair overcome their rocky past and learn to work together?
I enjoyed getting to know Preston and his family more closely in this story. I also liked meeting Hetty and the folks of Ash Fork. The Restless Wrangler by Karen Baney is a wonderful historical romance. This exciting tale incorporates the feel of day-to-day ranch life while a group of unforgettable characters must face realistic and devastating problems on the path. This is a beautiful tale of love, forgiveness, healing, and hope and these themes are woven throughout the story. The posse and Iris added an amusing twist to the account as well as offering wise advice along the way. This heartwarming novel is an inspiration and deals with some difficult topics in a beautiful and wholesome way. I loved this sweet second-chance romance and I look forward to reading more work from this author.
