AndroBiotica 2: Journey In Time is a work of fiction penned by author David Gittlin in the science fiction, adventure, and interpersonal drama genres. In this thrilling sequel, Special Investigator Derrick Faulk, recently unemployed, is called by his friend Adrien Mattias, a developer of nearly human androids, for a crucial mission. The future of their world is at stake, and time is critical. Alongside Derrick is Kristina Flemming, AndroBiotica's Director of Research. As romantic sparks fly and danger looms, the duo embarks on a thrilling journey into the future. This sequel to The Androbiotica File: Nearly Human can also be enjoyed as a standalone novel.

Author David Gittlin has crafted a perfect balance of excitement and intrigue with plenty of intriguing sci-fi concepts and engaging personal drama. Derrick Faulk's transition from losing his job to undertaking a mission of immense importance is a great opportunity to show the range and dynamism of the character, and Gittlin wastes no time in getting us right into the action and putting Derrick to the test. The dynamic between Derrick and Kristina was a delight, offering a compelling and multidimensional development with brilliant dialogue and some heartfelt moments. Gittlin's ability to blend action, romance, and speculative science fiction into a cohesive narrative was impressive. The futuristic elements and moral questions surrounding androids were thought-provoking, offering a great mix of contemplative moments of discovery and sudden, action-packed mood shifts. As the plot twisted and turned, the story remained engaging and unpredictable with such vivid descriptions of people and action, making it difficult to put the book down as you always wondered where it was going next. Overall, I would certainly recommend AndroBiotica 2: Journey In Time to fans of the existing series, and the series in general to science fiction fans everywhere.

AndroBiotica 2 - Journey In Time by David Gittlin is called “Light science fiction” by the author and I find the description accurate. Bordering on fantasy, the plot evolves in a ‘parallel dimension’, following the protagonist, Derrick Faulk, on a time travel trip to the near future. Its unique premise of traveling to the future to change that future is intriguing and something fresh in the time travel genre. Derrick is accompanied by a beautiful female robotic scientist to help him with the investigation. A fast-paced investigation with hair-raising confrontations ensures as the trio struggles to accomplish the mission. As a bonus, three colored and glossy photographs of the three main characters are included in the novel.

I really enjoyed reading this novel for several reasons. The style is peppered with vivid descriptions of everything the reader encounters, and it made me feel as if I was present in all the action. The point of view is first person present tense which also made it feel more immediate. The pacing is a bit slow at the beginning but speeds up once the plot gets underway. I liked Derrick’s character the best because it was described convincingly familiar but the other characters were also useful in establishing the plot and the conflicts. All in all, I can recommend “AndroBiotica 2 - Journey In Time” by David Gittlin for fans of lighthearted action-centered stories.

David Gittlin's AndroBiotica 2: Journey in Time is a sci-fi thriller that deals with professional challenges with a futuristic narrative. The story kicks off with a seasoned investigator, recently promoted to Director of the National Science Service (NSS), getting demoted because of a secret mission and a forbidden relationship. His demotion sets off a series of events leading him to resign, only to be swiftly offered a new opportunity by Adrien, a brilliant entrepreneur. Together with scientist Kristina, they navigate a futuristic world, tackling ethical dilemmas and corporate intrigue. Their quest to uncover hidden truths leads them through high-stakes adventures and complex character dynamics.

David Gittlin skillfully combines sci-fi and suspense, making for an exciting and thoughtful read. The story is truly impressive. Each chapter builds on the suspense, focusing on the ethical issues of advanced technology and corporate misconduct. Gittlin's style is both engaging and accessible. He skillfully balances technical terms with clear explanations, making complex sci-fi ideas easy to grasp. The dialogue is sharp and realistic, enhancing character development and interactions. The pacing is brisk, with each chapter ending on a note that pushes the story forward. The tone and settings make a tense and successful impact with a vivid backdrop for the action. Another exciting factor is the well-developed characters, with the protagonist's strength and adaptability being highlighted. Kristina's evolving role and Adrien's enigmatic nature add layers of complexity to the overall storyline. Moreover, the characters face high emotional stakes, making tough personal sacrifices and moral choices that drive their actions. The title itself effectively captures the essence of the book. The reference to "AndroBiotica," which continues from the first part of the series, suggests a focus on androids and biotechnology-central themes that drive the plot and character interactions. The book also questions the morality of using technology for personal gain and the need for regulatory oversight. AndroBiotica 2 is a thrilling blend of sci-fi, action, and ethical exploration. The intricate plot, rich character dynamics, and suspenseful tone make it a compelling read. Highly recommended, especially to those who love sci-fi thrillers.
