At First Sight - Pure Amore: Sweet Romance, Pure Enjoyment by Delia Latham is a romantic journey of two hearts trying to find their way to each other. Reagan Massey is a young Christian woman enjoying the single life (or so she thinks), who works for her uncle at the Riverbend Church. Reagan’s Uncle Steve informs her he’s invited a young minister, Cord Phillips, to meet his daughter, Stevie. On that fateful day when Cord arrives, he strolls into the church and right into Reagan’s heart. Even though she’s in on the matchmaking scheme between Cord and Stevie, Reagan falls heart over head in love! Her head knows why he’s visiting, but her heart wildly protests the idea of him being with any other woman but her, even her cousin, Stevie. As she gets to know him, she learns Cord is strong, yet gentle, sincere, yet playful, sensitive, yet bold. Add good looking, goodnatured, and good at just about everything, and what’s not to love? Oh, yes. How about that secret reason he’s in town ... There’s no way she can betray her uncle’s trust. She gave her word to help him set the minister up with Stevie, and help him she must. Will Reagan push Cord into the arms of her beautiful cousin, or will she see that just maybe God has someone else in mind?
At First Sight is as sweet and refreshing as a tall glass of lemonade. This tender romance stirred my heart, and I appreciated the added touch of humor. Delia Latham knows how to pull emotion out of her characters, and out of her readers, all while managing to make us laugh at her characters' comical predicaments, such as riding through the Tunnel of Love. That scene was a hoot. I felt for Reagan and Cord, who through a series of misunderstandings believe they are not meant to be together, no matter the tugging of their heartstrings. And those strings were pulling mighty hard! This is a well written, lighthearted book that romance lovers will not only enjoy, but they will be left wanting more of this author’s pure 'amore' stories.
