He was responsible for teaching computers to think and he used them for his own good. In just three short years, Greg Dalhart has created a piece of software that can locate just about anyone on the run in the US. Now Greg is on the run and his own computer software is tracking him down. All of a sudden, he has a price on his head of millions of dollars. He shouldn’t be alive, but he managed to evade capture. It won’t be long before the people who are after him learn something about Greg Dalhart and his software – one of them is evil. But which one? And what exactly is this software he has created?

The Dalhart Pursuit by Randall Jarmon was a real gripping thriller. A full story of suspense with romance mixed in for good measure and the quintessential chase story. I was hooked into the story – at first it seemed like it was just going to be another good vs bad story but, as I read through it, the story got a bit deeper and there was more to it than it first seemed. Excellent story, excellent characters and a number of surprises along the way. This is everything a good thriller should be and more. Well done to Mr. Jarman on an excellent story and I really hope there is more where that came from.

The Dalhart Pursuit is an engaging mystery by Randall Jarmon. Greg Dalhart is a gifted software engineer who creates a unique programme called Rescuer. Its primary function is to locate missing kids and fugitives using their personal data. Greg sells the software to GlimmerSeek, and Flogger, a director, hire assassins to kill Greg’s friend and frame him. Greg has five days to elude the killers, and if he survives, he’ll get his payment. Investigator Jill Brennan is given the case and believes Greg is innocent. This makes her Flogger’s next target. The assassins think killing Greg will be another easy murder, but are proven wrong when they are outwitted by him. This bizarre crime angers Greg, more so as his movements are monitored by a computer programme he created. He resorts to using his specialised combat skills no one knows about, so he can get his life back to normal.

This is a story that will make readers reflect deeply on their privacy. Although the book is fiction, it made me more conscious about the things I do, both on the internet and otherwise. How far will governments and corporations go to spy on civilians, in order to gather information on them? I like the author’s writing style and think the plot is convincing. He makes a few of his characters unique, and the plot itself is suspenseful, very cleverly written with a bit of humour thrown in. The Dalhart Pursuit by Randall Jarmon is an impressive novel that I enjoyed reading.
