The More Things Change by Elle Nora is a women’s fiction story about Joya Alexander. Readers were first introduced to Joya in Better Choices, and The More Things Change continues that story. Joya is a successful businesswoman. But, for all of her financial successes, she still continues to have challenges in her life, especially when it comes to love. Joya is determined to find the man of her dreams. Like most of us, she wants to be happy, and she equates happiness with settling down with a good man. The More Things Change is a story about change. While Joya is on her journey to find the right man, her closest friends are going through tough experiences. Joya’s friends are like sisters to her, but this journey tests their relationship in ways they have never experienced before. They laugh, cry, fight, but most importantly love each other, because isn’t that what a best friend is all about?

The More Things Change was a real page turner for me. I loved these characters! Elle Nora has a way of making these characters come to life so that you feel as if they are your best friends. I laughed out loud in certain scenes and cried when things got tough. To elicit that emotion takes a talented writer, and Elle Nora is just that! After I read this book I felt compelled to call my girlfriends and have my own girls' night out. This book is so well-written that it will get to you and affect you in so many positive ways.

The More Things Change, A Novel by Elle Nora is a charming account of the lives, struggles and loves of the principal characters, sisters Joya and Mona. Friend Sam plays a pivotal role as mentor to Joya as she tries to live her life to the fullest. When Joya becomes involved with a married man, Sam makes every effort to make her see reason. It falls on deaf ears. The day her sister, Mona, tells Joya that she and husband, William, are moving, it tips Joya’s life into a tail-spin. She finds the news difficult to accept. After all, her sister has been an anchor and support for her for many years. How will she manage without her?

As Joya adjusts to her sister’s news, life continues to cause her to rethink her relationship with David. She knows that she has deep feelings for him, but also comes to accept that what she is doing is not right. His loyalty should be to his wife, Lynne, but her heart and her head cannot agree on how to resolve the situation. Bryce Sims saw and heard a great deal in his business. Watching people and catering to their needs, he spends his days busily serving and watching and listening. He never failed to be awed by the behavior of his patrons.

Throw all these interesting characters together, mix and stir, and you have a story that is really insightful and enjoyable. Elle Nora has thorough experience of the fickle nature of people, and has written a book guaranteed to charm with its insight into the frailties and strengths of humankind. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Definitely a lovely, worthwhile story; absolutely a must-read.

The More Things Change by Elle Nora is a very endearing women's fiction read. This book continues to follow the story of businesswoman Joya Alexander (who we met in the previous book, Better Choices). Joya strives to lead a fulfilling life, looking for happiness, embracing her relationships with her best girlfriends, excelling at her career, and as always, keeping an eye out for Mr. Right.

I found this book read a lot like "Sex in the City" with its endearing cast of female characters. Joya and her friends face many highs and lows, but throughout it all, they always stick together, no matter what. The author has a great grasp of creating situations and dialogue that feel realistic and authentic, not contrived in the least, which makes for a very entertaining and fun read. I really connected with Joya's character. She was determined to make the most of everything, trying her best to succeed in her endeavors, and also find love. I think she will be a very relatable character for most readers. I'm not saying she is without flaws (she was not perfect in the least, but that only made her more realistic), but she tried, and that's what matters.

I think The More Things Change would be a great selection for a women's book club read. There is a lot to discuss about the book, but it's also an opportunity for women to open up to each other about their own life experiences. This book revolves around living life alongside your best girlfriends, which is something that most women can embrace.
