Author Biography

I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with my husband and two teenage daughters.
I'm a lawyer, who specialized in cases of sexual abuse and violence against children and women. I also have a Masters in Business Law and a BA in Fine Arts.
I've always loved to read, write and listen to music.
I lived and studied in England, France, Italy, Switzerland and, of course, Brazil.
Traveling is one of my passions - as is keeping fit and healthy.
After twenty-two years of practicing law, I decided to give writing a go. And - amazingly - it was just the piece that was missing in my life.
In 2012, I publish the first installment of my trilogy, TRUST, and the sequel got out on April 2013. The third book is in the oven and it's probably coming out in autumn 2013.
Recently I decided to bring to light a very different work. It's not a romance. It a short philosophical story and it's quite different. It was a work done a long time ago but I have a deep connection with it. So, it reveals a lot about my ideals and morals.

"Trust: Betrayed" is the second book in the 'Trust series' written by Cristiane Serruya. In the first book, the three protagonists were introduced. They are Sophia Leibowitz, the rich and beautiful 25 year old widow, Ethan Ashford, a rich tycoon, and Alistair Connor McCraig, a banker who has a reputation as a playboy. All of them seem to have everything anyone can ever want in life but they are unable to find happiness and love. We learned from the first book that the three of them are haunted by their dark pasts. In this narrative, Sophia tries to escape from Alistair and finds out that she cannot escape from his love as well as from his domineering ways. Ethan, on the other hand, uses his influence to stay in Sophia's life. What makes the second book very interesting is the revelation why Sophia, Ethan and Alistair behave the way they do. This is a very compelling love triangle because there is so much love and passion involved and it involves rich and powerful people who have all the resources at their disposal. In the end, Sophia can only belong to one man and in the process, she is bound to break another man's heart.

Love is a powerful emotion but is it stronger than guilt, fear and pain? This is one of the questions that came to my mind when I finished reading the novel "Trust:Betrayed". The story also reminds me that love is more important than money and power. When I started reading the book, I was immediately drawn to Christiane Serruya's writing style, which is dialogue-driven and fast-paced. This makes her story a compelling read, one that is hard to put down. I am also enamored by the strength and passion of her protagonists. With characters like Sophia, Ethan, and Alistair, one should expect the tension and conflict that arise when you put them together in a love triangle. This is a testament to the author's fertile imagination. As their pasts were revealed, it is difficult not to find in my heart the understanding for each of these scarred individuals. This is a story of finding and losing love. It is also a lesson on how the past can catch up with anyone, even the powerful and the rich. And I guess one of the lessons we can learn from "Trust: Betrayed" is the art of loving and moving on, by letting go of the past. I highly recommend this novel to anyone who wants to learn the art of loving and letting go.

“Trust: Betrayed” finds Sophia beginning to regain her memory which she lost when she was shot. She is troubled by nightmares and insecurities, leaving her feeling unworthy of anyone’s love. Readers will be thrilled with the return of Sophia; her personality will draw readers to her; her beauty, style and elegance will have women wishing they could be like her. However, Sophia is more than a beautiful woman; she is intelligent, resourceful and shrewd. Our Sophia is deeply in love with Alistair but he has a dark side that drives her away; he loves her but can two strong personalities bond together without destroying the other? Alistair wants a woman willing to submit to his will but Sophia has no intention of submitting willingly. Ethan, our other sexy male lead, wants Sophia back in his arms.

“Trust: Betrayed” written by Cristiane Serruva is the second book in the 'Trust series'. Leading characters Sophia, Alistair and Ethan were introduced in the first book “Trust: A New Beginning”. “Betrayed” takes readers back in time where they discover the secrets and sins of the past of Sophia, Alistair and Ethan. As in most series, book one set the stage for the next book. Book the second steals the show by giving the characters greater depth and maturity. Cristiane Serruva keeps readers on the edge of their seat by creating many twists and turns. The love scenes were handled in a sensual manner with great passion. The author’s style is charming and fluid, moving between past and present effortlessly.

"Trust: Betrayed" by Cristiane Serruya is the second installment of the 'Trust trilogy'. It takes us back into the past and reveals the secrets and darker deeds of the main players, Alistair, Ethan and Sophia. Sophia wants a relationship with Alistair but a secret stands between them lurking just beneath the surface mask that she shows everyone in the world. Can she find peace within herself? Alistair, on the other side of the coin, is sure that he does not deserve any kind of love, and he will do all that he can to push Sophia away from him. Even though he loves her. Ethan, while seeming to be on top of the world, loves Sophia despite the short length of their previous relationship and he wants her so much that he will do anything to have her.

Once again Cristiane Serruya puts us into the world of these three characters and gives us a deeper amount of the history that makes them who they are. I really enjoyed this second installment of the 'Trust series', I think in fact more than I liked the first. It is a deep book with many turns and a lot of information to take in about each character. However, once you have that information you are able to better accept the characters for who they are and understand what motivates them to get what they want. I won't give away what happens in the book. There is a lot that could be said but it would give some threads away. I will say you must read this one, and I for one cannot wait for the third installment to see what happens in the end to Sophia, Alistair and Ethan.
