The Big, Bad Wolf Really Isn't so Big and Bad by Sara Barnard is an educational book about the wolves of America. Cocoa the wolf will guide you through the book and show a way to get all the answers to your questions.

The book is very informative and it is a good read for children, parents, teachers, and adults. You get to know a lot of things about wolves and the details are given with crispness and clarity, making it very easy for the reader to comprehend. The author brings in Cocoa the wolf to guide you through the details and the questions. Each chapter speaks about the wolves and at the end of each chapter there is vocabulary and some interactive questions to find out how much you have understood that chapter. It is a nice way of making children recollect what they read.

Frankly speaking, I did not know there were so many types of wolves and I enjoyed the fact that there is chapter on wolves featured in legends and story books. The book also tells us how these wolves are depicted as healers in Navajo legends, which is quite a revelation because we look at them in a very different way. It is a perfect book for libraries and classrooms. All the facts that you need to know about wolves are covered here. The book actually makes us look at wolves in a new light.
