Tom and Lovey II: Pursuit of the Thunderbird by G. R. Jerry continues the story of Tom and Lovey as they face more challenges. Lovey was struggling with her newly enhanced abilities. Her panther form was still a little foreign to her, but nothing tested her more than her new younger self. Tom was also battling. The duo moved from the Midwest to the Southwest as Tom chased the scent of smoke haunting him since the 1800s. Tom and Lovey were looking for his mentor, Red Deer, who had disappeared a long time before. The duo was under pressure as they chased after ghosts, looked for clues, and obtained help from unexpected places. When the truth was revealed, a new villain emerged. Tom and Lovey were left scrambling to make sense of the chaos and stop the destruction before it was too late.

Even though I didn’t read the first novel in the series, I had no hesitation in jumping right in and following the story in Tom and Lovey II. Tom and Lovey are a dynamic duo that rocked my world. Lovey’s panther form was majestic, and I loved the way she found her bearings before the crescendo. I was amazed by the level of suspense and mystery added to the story. It was difficult to guess what would happen next and who would turn out to be a foe. Initially, the sheer number of characters and their quirky names overwhelmed me slightly, but it became easier as the story progressed. Thunderbird was a menace, and G. R. Jerry did a fantastic job of making her one of the best villains I have encountered this year. The dynamic between Tom and Lovey was fascinating. They had each other’s backs, and I loved watching them grow more confident. The little touches of humor and relentless action made this an entertaining fantasy novel. I highly recommend this series.

Tom and Lovey II: Pursuit of the Thunderbird by G. R. Jerry is a horror story set in modern times. It's the sequel to Tom and Lovey: Under the Moon Into the Wood. It follows Tom and Lovey as they resist a devil witch's attempts to deceive them. Tom has unfinished business. He is on a mission to discover what happened to his lost old friend, Red Deer, to the great Thunderbird and Moon in Her Eyes. On their way to New Mexico, Lovey’s body begins its metamorphosis. Tom learns from Margit, his only surviving link to his past, who appears in one of his dreams, that Stargut was mere child’s play compared to what they are about to face. Margit warns Tom that he will face a true test. But when strange things happen and spirits appear, Tom and Lovey learn that nothing is what it seems.

Tom and Lovey II by G. R. Jerry is a richly detailed paranormal fantasy. It's unlike any paranormal series I've read before. Jerry's unsettling style kept me intrigued and engrossed throughout the story. This sequel is a unique blend of horror, fantasy, and the supernatural that was worth the read, even though it contains violence and dark themes. I enjoyed Pursuit of the Thunderbird mainly because it offers essential glimpses of Tom's and Lovey's backstories and because it is driven by the history of Tom’s immortality and supernatural adventure. I recommend it to those genuinely interested in rich horror and fantasy stories. It is creepy, suspenseful, and quite terrifying.

Tom and Lovey II: Pursuit of the Thunderbird is the second book of G.R. Jerry's supernatural horror Tom and Lovey series. After their harrowing encounter with Stargut and his underlings, Tom and Lovey leave the Village of Wrong and head south toward the unknown. As flashes of his old life in the late 19th century haunt Tom, he finds himself reminiscing about his friend and mentor, Red Deer, whose granddaughter, Moon in Her Eyes, was claimed by a vengeful spirit. Meanwhile, Lovey has regained her youth alongside the ability to turn into a panther. As they search for Red Deer, Tom, and Lovey travel back and forth in time, guided by a majestic Thunderbird. But an old witch becomes their biggest nemesis, and soon Tom and Lovey find themselves trapped in a seemingly neverending cycle of death and horror.

Unlike the first book in the series, which was set in a small town, Pursuit of the Thunderbird is a sprawling odyssey of horror that switches back and forth in time, traversing a plethora of places. Surreal, ambitious, and thoroughly riveting, G.R. Jerry's novel showcases Southern gothic horror you don't want to miss. Jerry introduces many new characters and places in this installment, and as a result, the story feels even more epic, with its origins firmly rooted in Tom's past. Jerry's vivid descriptions and prose paint quite a picture in your head, and you feel transported into this chaotic world where danger looms at every step. Highly recommended.

Tom and Lovey II: Pursuit of the Thunderbird is a work of fiction in the fantasy, adventure, and interpersonal drama subgenres. It is intended for young adult readers and was penned by author G R Jerry. This novel is the sequel to Under the Moon Into the Wood, and it reunites us with protagonists Tom and Lovey as they are drawn from the Midwest to the Southwest by the mysterious scent of acrid smoke that has shaped Tom's life since the 1800s. Lovey, with her evolving supernatural abilities, joins Tom in solving the mystery of a ghostly missing boy. Their journey takes them to New Mexico, where they confront sorcery and seek answers about Tom's lost granddaughter and her dead twin. As they encounter spirits and face dangerous challenges, they discover hidden secrets and face the deadly Thunderbird.

Author G R Jerry's vivid and imaginative storytelling provided me with an enthralling experience that seamlessly blended paranormal fantasy, horror, and time-travel elements. One of the features I was most impressed by in this novel was the author’s commitment to character development, especially in our central duo of Tom and Lovey. They were well-developed and relatable, making their struggles and sacrifices deeply impactful. The author's descriptions of the Southwest setting and the spiritual realm added depth and richness to the narrative, and the intertwining of history and mythology added complexity and intrigue to the plot, leaving me eagerly turning the pages to uncover more secrets. Overall, Tom and Lovey II: Pursuit of the Thunderbird is an absorbing and thrilling read that adeptly combines genres into a rich story, and I, for one, can’t wait to see more.

Tom and Lovey II: Pursuit of the Thunderbird by G. R. Jerry is a paranormal fantasy and horror story set in modern times. Tom was a teenager in the 1870s when he was taken in by the Navajo. The events that followed saw him being abandoned in a mystical zone. In the present, Lovey is a young woman who transforms into a panther when angered and is having trouble using her recently upgraded skills. Tom and Lovey travel from the Midwest to the Southwest as Tom goes in search of his mentor Red Deer and the smoke fragrance that has been tormenting him since 1800. A demon witch tries to trick Tom and Lovey, but they fight her off. When strange things happen and spirits appear, Tom and Lovey learn that nothing is what it seems.

Tom and Lovey II by G. R. Jerry features a supernatural couple who are trying to solve a 150-year-old mystery. The story begins in the middle of the action, and a lot is happening at once. The suspense and mystery kept me on the edge of my seat. There was no way I could guess what would happen next. The events were vividly described, and the touches of humor lightened the mood. There were many characters, and everybody’s role was explained as the story progressed. I got to know them better through their background stories. Tom and Lovey are a dynamic couple, and the way that they protected each other was fascinating. Lovey’s panther form was majestic and exciting. This book is nothing like any other fantasy or horror story I have read before.

In Pursuit of the Thunderbird by G R Jerry, a trip begins when Tom and Lovey follow a scent to the Southwest that is associated with Tom's life journey since the passing of his parents. During a stay in Missouri to unravel the mystery of a long-dead missing boy, Farmer Lovey adjusts to her changing self, including her skills of magical and shapeshifting into a panther. Tom revisits past events connected to his granddaughter Moon in Her Eyes and her deceased twin while they are in New Mexico. Their journey is influenced by encounters with otherworldly beings like Junior and his devoted dog Spooky. Tom hunts for answers through his interactions with spirits, which leads to the secrets of Chaco Canyon and the ultimate sacrifice.

Pursuit of the Thunderbird, the second book in the Tom and Lovey series by G R Jerry and preceded by book one, Under the Moon into the Wood, has everything required for a completely absorbing work of paranormal fiction. Jerry employs elements of mystery, history, cultural context, and suspense that kept me engaged, which is no small feat in a sequel. I love the incorporation of Navajo legends and their spiritual beliefs, and that Jerry is able to exercise the restraint of a seasoned author in his gradual build-us, particularly as Lovey uncovers the truth behind Tom's behavior and the sinister entity that threatens them both, leading to a journey to confront the unknown. The shapeshifter transformations are spectacularly described, the best being a confrontation with Devil No Name. I can find no fault in this series whatsoever and am excited to see what Jerry gives us next. Very highly recommended.

Tom and Lovey II: Pursuit of the Thunderbird by G R Jerry is the paranormal fantasy sequel to Under the Moon into the Wood. In the leadup, Lovey sets out to exact revenge for a horrific loss, joined by a multi-centuries-old evil-hunter named Tom. The pair converges in the Village of Wrong, a community of mutant residents where, together, they vow to fight evil forces near the entrance to hell, hidden in the moonlit riverside woodlands. Book two puts Tom and Lovey on the path of looking into disappearances, and Lovey learns about her alter-panther form. Tom investigates the circumstances surrounding his granddaughter Moon in Her Eyes and Red Deer, led by spirits to a Southwest canyon, where more secrets are exposed and Tom is transported back in time by the Thunderbird.

Pursuit of the Thunderbird by G R Jerry pulled me in immediately and even though I started with book two I never felt like I was missing key elements. Jerry threads a diverse cast of characters from different tribal backgrounds together, creating a rich and complex world. Tom and Lovey are likeable and the coupling of personal and supernatural challenges made them relatable and made me sympathetic to their plight. The scenery is written in what is best described as visually cinematic prose, the standout to me being Canyon de Chelly and the ghostly gathering in the underground kiva. Time travel and an alternate reality scenario were unexpected but I loved them! Going back to the 1800s during the Apache wars and blurring the lines between history and the paranormal superbly. I hope book three isn't too far off.

G.R. Jerry brings Tom and Lovey back for the sequel Tom and Lovey II: Pursuit of the Thunderbird. The duo leaves the Midwest, where they beat Stargut, and travels toward the Southwest. While doing so, they will have to deal with the consequences of their past adventures, and Lovey's panther form emerging while they try to solve the mystery of a missing boy in Missouri. They then continue south to New Mexico, colliding directly with Tom's past. The disappearance of his former mentor, Red Deer, and the sorcery surrounding the twins from his past will haunt both of them. Tom and Lovey will need help from the afterlife and other mystical creatures. Will they manage to emerge victorious this time?

G.R. Jerry has outdone himself with Tom and Lovey II: Pursuit of the Thunderbird. It is not common for sequels to be better than the original, but I do believe this is the case. He tells the main story intertwined with snippets of the past, managing to build a bigger picture while making the plot even more engaging. By doing so, the reader can create a deeper connection with the characters they already know from the previous book. These characters are strong and fierce - a necessary trait to face the horrific events that will happen to them during the plot. Their personalities are well-defined and are easily distinguishable from other characters. This book has an incredible effect on the reader. Despite it being terrifying, you will not be able to put it down until the end.
